family Partner FAQ

A Family Partner is an individual donor who chooses to give a one-time or recurring donation that goes directly toward an adoption grant. Any individual who makes a donation is considered to be one of our family partners.

The cost of an adoption can range from $30,000-60,000.

Thanks to the generous support of our Legacy Partners, our organizational overhead costs are covered so that 100% of Family Partner contributions go toward the funding of an adoption.

Throughout the adoption process, there are several parties that require payment from the adoptive families for a wide variety of services. These parties include:

  • State Licensing/Home Study Agencies
  • Family Attorney
  • Adoption Agency
  • Birth Mother Expenses

In order to ensure that we are best stewarding the resources given to us by our generous donors, we require that awards are disbursed directly to the payee (i.e. attorney, agency, etc.). At the discretion of the Board, reimbursement may be given to families who have already paid their adoption expenses and have provided sufficient documentation for reimbursement.

While there are foster care cases that do result in adoption at a lower cost to the adoptive family; the primary goal of foster care is reunification of the child(ren) with their biological family. With this goal in mind, parents who desire to adopt are discouraged from using foster care as the means by which they pursue adoption.
