At this time, Sawyer and Sons is only able to provide grants to families adopting domestically within the United States.
Our hope is to be able to alleviate much of the financial burden that adoptive families undertake. Award amounts will are dependent upon availability of funds, and grant amounts will be determined ahead of each application period to help our families wisely plan for their adoption.
Total number of grants awarded per application period is subject to the amount of available funds and the number of grant applications received. We will let you know how many grants we are able to award during your application period after the application window has closed.
Grant recipients will be notified of their awards by the end of the quarter in which they applied.
You can expect the application process to take place over a three-month period.
Home studies are eligible for submission for reimbursement. Reimbursement will be awarded on a case by case basis.
Eligible domestic travel expenses associated with your adoption may be submitted for consideration as a part of your total adoption costs. Eligible costs include airfare and lodging.
Grantees are prayerfully selected based upon a variety of factors; including, but not limited to, financial need, infertility, and current family size.
A grant administrator will work with each individual family to determine whether grant awards will be disbursed as a reimbursement or if the award money will be disbursed directly to the payor. In most cases, families should not expect to receive the grant disbursement directly.
